What does the counseling and somatic story work process look like?
Counseling and somatic story work are both collaborative processes in which the counselor discusses the individual's life situation and goals with them. They assist the individual in exploring deeper issues while also providing a safe, confidential environment for healing and change. The goal is to foster trust and healing in the individual or couples.

How much does it cost, and do you take health insurance?

Somatic Story Work- $125 -
Do you offer reduced rates for those who are in need of financial assistance?
Even though I think counseling is a good investment, I know that some people may not be able to pay the full price. My goal is to make sure that as many people as possible can get mental health care. I do have a few spots open for people who can only pay a lower rate.
-
What does it mean that you are practicing under supervision?
As an intern and pre-licensed counselor in the state of Arizona, I can only do therapy under the supervision of a licensed professional counselor (LPC). In practice, I meet with my boss once a week, and she asks me questions about my job to make sure I'm giving the best care I can.

Do I need to fill out any paperwork?
After setting up your first appointment, a confirmation email will be sent with a link to your client portal. To access your new client paperwork, click on the link and enter your password. Fill out all online forms at least 24 hours before your appointment, including consent forms and questionnaires, which should take about 20 minutes.
-
How often will we meet?
I work with clients once a week. When there aren't as many sessions, the work moves too slowly, making it harder for clients to reach their goals. So that I can give you my full attention, I only work with a few clients at a time.
-
What’s your cancellation policy?
If you need to miss an appointment, I require at least 24 hours of notice; otherwise, you will be charged the full fee for your appointment.
-
Do you work with young children?
No, I work only with teens, young adults and adults.

How does telehealth appiontments work?
Zoom video conferencing sessions are conducted in the privacy of your home or office, and the basic application setup is easy to understand, making it a convenient and efficient tool for communication.
-
How is telehealth different from in-person?
The client(s) will sign in to the zoom waiting room using my "personal zoom id number," just like they would at an in-person therapy session, and will be let into our session at the scheduled time. Many clients say they like that they can have therapy in the comfort of their own home instead of going to an office. I've been pleasantly surprised by how close my clients feel to me when they use telehealth and how well therapy works when they use zoom. To have a successful telehealth session, you need to have wifi, a reliable computer, and a quiet room with no other people around.

For couples telehealth, can we be in separate places?
Yes, but I'd rather you all be together.I have seen couples who have to be in different places and still do well.
